Official Dryuary (Dry January) 2025 Thread

Good luck!

I was dry from April 25th to May 27th but for 2 ounces of a 1971 Inglenook Charbono (it was DOA) and 4 ounces of sparkling rose’ (to kill the taste of the Charbono).

Good luck! We have started doing Dry August. A mid-year reset is a good choice for us, as we usually have a vacation in June and another in November or December.

I stopped drinking for January a few years ago figuring I would lose weight. Despite drinking a total of around 5 drinks for the month I didn’t lose an ounce. Better to have five drinks a night and be happy…

I meant to check in at the half-way point, but I just realized that I am on Day 17 of Dry Junuary. Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess.

Anyway, I have been resolute in my abstinence but, unlike in past Dryuaries, I have not lost any weight. On the one hand, I haven’t gained any weight since January. On the other, I have been eating more and including more protein in my diet because I have been exercising more regularly and intensely.

So far, so good.

In just over 15 hours, I will have successfully completed Dry Junuary. Even without the support of a special Dry Junuary thread, there were no lapses and it wasn’t that big a deal. I did wind up down a few pounds at the end, and I managed to train (either on the bike or on a trail run) six times per week on average. I’m in decent shape heading into vacation on Saturday.

I’ll see you all in the 2026 thread in January!

First night, and I am already sideways!

Thirty days of total sobriety apparently weren’t enough for me to learn how to make my pics display the right way! Anyway, not a BD wine, but a wine that Berserker @Robert_Panzer turned me on to years ago (I think my first Gulfi purchase was a '14). It definitely hits the spot!

Was dry in April due to being on medication. Now on antibiotics for 3 months, so no drinking. I’m getting a big time reset!
