This is the thread for Berserkers choosing to participate in Dryuary 2023, i.e. no alcohol for the month of January.
Feel free to post as often as you like.
If Dryuary is not your thing, or you cannot fathom the idea of a month without wine, feel free to post elsewhere.
Also, if you’re opening a bubbly on New Year’s Eve, don’t forget to post some bubbly knowledge on the Week 6 Virtual Tasting for Charity thread, found at:
Welcome to the final week of the 2022 WineBerserkers’ Virtual Tasting for Charity event. As usual, this is Bubbly Week!
In anticipation of BerserkerDay 14, I invite you to join me in throwing gobs of money toward a good cause, the Montgomery County Early Learning Fund.
I’ll get to the point. Early childhood learning solves two problems: 1) kids learn (duh), and 2) their parents can afford to remain in the workforce. This is quite a challenge in my little corner of West Central Indiana…
You might want to fix the year…
Fixed. And I haven’t even been drinking tonight.
We are in, as usual, for Dry January and February as part of a yearly keto reset. And, also as usual, I’m looking forward to it.

I’ll probably do keto and abstain for the first 3 weeks until early Chinese new year this year; then start again for another 3 or so weeks.

At the moment, I plan to participate, although a growing mountain of wine and whisky may be my siren song.
So I have been dry since September 15th, so January will not be an issue.
The first seven days are the hardest.
Oy vey. I do hope that is by choice, and not forced choice.
I thought I would look forward to this one, but I gained about 5 lbs over the last month and am disappointed in myself. At the moment, Dryuary feels more like a penance.
I’ll be back
Good to “see” you back.
We’re doing modified Dryuary.
No wine on Sun-Wed, then restraint on Thu-Sat.
No second helpings at dinner and no after dinner drinks.
Just going to go to the gym twice as often to make up for it.
Yes by choice but also trying to cut back after 25 years of drinking… it was time for a break. Question is what is going to break my sobriety?
We’ll do something similar - only have wine two days a week. No dessert (and I love ice cream).

You and me both. I drank the least amount in 2022 since my junior year of high school (25 years ago), and I suspect 2023 will be even less.
Im in for Dry January again. It’s a great reset for me every year and goes along with tightening Keto as well.
I’m in except for the weekend I have a friend in town and a poker game.
I will start Tuesday, and I already know of two events

Looking forward to reading your daily posts again this year. Thanks!

Dry January is Critical to race season training in January… doing the fundraiser again this year. A newly ambitious mark of 10k miles ridden by our elite team (12-13 guys). Hoping to raise $10k for the homeless this year!
We started out strong with several of the guys putting in for 100+ miles today (101 for me). Now just about 750miles more for each of us over the next 30 days 🏋🏼♀️
