I’ve grabbed a case of the 2020 already. Costco also had a run with the 2016, 18, & 19 Cafaggio CCR Vendemmia for 19.99 that is a great weeknight bottle. I’m hoping to see a few more Brunello’s . The 2016 Col D’Orcia for 39 was a great buy. I’d love to see the Felsina CCR the west coast stores have had, but nothing so far.

2020 Santa Cruz all noted for smoke taint - anyone had this?.

I saw some Eden 2020 at Costco and couldn’t help but think of those fires.

But even for whites? Dont recall dates of fire or pick dates

The fire started in August. August 16

Here was Aug. 19, 2020 at 4pm on the edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Pretty shitty to use reviews for the 2020, which was a better vintage overall, particularly when reviews for the 2021 have been out for quite some time now.

I saw one lonely bottle of 2021 Pavie at the SLO Costco this afternoon, not marked down: $299.99.

The only wine I bought there today was a bottle of 2022 Margerum SBC Grenache at $16.99.

Both are good price. Costco Almaden, CA

The answer depends on when do you plan to drink it.
First of all, Palmer is a wonder Bordeaux with first growth quality. It is always ranked top 3 in Margaux AOC.

If you want to drink now or in the near future, for the same or less money, you can get a very good 1979,1980 or 2012 palmer that is ready to be consumed right now: K&L Wine Merchants - Sign In or Create An Account.

If you want to buy this one, you have to know that it will sit in your cellar for at least 10 years. the 200$s that you invested here, can bring you back at least 4 times of return if you invest in things like QQQ and SPY (based on past performance, could be misleading, but you got the point).

For great wines like these, if you don’t plan to drink now, or you dont have the setup to store, I would suggest to pass.

81 pts. from Jeb Dunnuck. I’ve never seen a score this low on a Costco shelf talker.

Wow that’s wild! I absolutley love Hartford zins and would be snagging a handful if they had em here in AZ

Based on the text, I wonder if the score is a misprint. I did some searching on Wine Searcher. One store had Jeb at 92 but no review so who knows. Wine Advocate and Wine Independent rated it 95 and Wine Spectator rated it 93.

Winery shows a 92 from JD with review: https://www.hartfordwines.com/sites/default/files/acclaim/HB24_293677%20v22%20Dunnuck%20Acclaim%20Sheet.pdf

That’s a good price. Hartford is very good.

I don’t know if this is typical for entry level/more mass produced wines or maybe they have the score prior to being published (I think a new Sonoma report is coming) but I don’t see a review for this wine on Jeb’s site
