Official Costco Thread

I’ve never had one. I’d buy exactly one at that price, just to try it.

I’d recommend the ‘Heche Mexico’ old school Coca Cola bottles instead carried in some Costco. Same cola flavors, natural sugar, great glass, and can be poured straight up, or with Bourbon.

The picture was posted to show the sad state of the US wine market, especially for these bulkers.

Irvine (Technology Drive) one was loaded with wines today. Probably 30+ different BDX labels, almost all 2021s. Prices near but not quite to low WSPro for available single bottles, so a solid but not special buying opportunity if you want any 2021s.

Of interest to me was they had 2015 Robert Craig Cabernet Howell Mountain 2015 for $49. Quite a bargain price, and the wine already has a good head start on aging.

They also had 2016 Beringer Private Reserve Cab for $109.

Lots of other things, Flaccianello, more Mt. Eden chardonnay, Silver Oak Napa. I didn’t have the energy to photograph today, plus it would have taken 20 photos.

Might have to visit there during Christmas time!

When TP disappeared for days on end during COVID, I told my wife upon returning from the grocery stored, “Well there’s no TP again but not to worry there were plenty of tortillas!” She wasn’t amused.

Me in Boca today…

I don’t even bother anymore. We’ve had the same wine at the Aventura location now for two years.

Slight drift here but Meijer in Whitestown, Indiana this morning!!! Was told it was last bottle but will check back later.

Saw this at the Danville Costco today.

At Redwood City Costco, I opened one last night and went back for a case this morning. The description on the Costco tag is pretty accurate.

Well, sure. But how much for the Rombauer?

Magnums of their Chardonnay for $70. Several still available but no solo pictures.

I’ll be visiting San Diego in a month. Are any of the Costco’s in/near Sand Diego worth checking out? I hope so, mid-January seems to be a good time to look around for after holiday and/or re-inventory deals.

The Carlsbad store always seems to have a great selection.

Carlsbad, Mission Valley, and Morena are all good, though not sure any have really great stuff these days.

I hit the jackpot at the Noblesville, IN store today. Monsanto is our everyday Chianti Classico that we have with pasta throughout the year. This price is $9/bottle cheaper than our local Total Wine (where I probably would have otherwise purchased them over the course of a year), and is even cheaper than the least expensive Wine Searcher option that I could find (that ships to Indiana). So I bought a case.

That wine ages really well, too (which is not to say you can’t enjoy it younger if you want).

Ironic in that there was just an article mentioning that Total Wine had overtaken Costco as the largest wine retailer - and one reason is that they worked hard to undercut them :-). Ooooops

That is a steeeeal
