If anyone wants to trade for some $199 Palmer, $169 LLC or $79 Pontet Canet let me know. I bought my bottles two weeks ago and it’s still just sitting there at my Costco as of yesterday.
Palmer is all gone at this location now.
Why buy a LLC when you can buy a Caymus for only $30 more
Carlsbad, CA had
Clinet $66 (3 left)
Clerc Milon $60
Duhart $60
Pavillon Margaux $150
Las Cases $170
L’Evangile $170
Pontet Canet $80
18 Malescot $60
Brainaire $36
Very jealous of the deals you gents are getting. Costcos in NYS don’t have wine. Must be some legal thing.
I come to this thread just for the FOMO. Anyone want to ship us NYC guys some of that cheap Bordeaux?
Absolutely in for this. Will happily split a case (or five).
Anyone try the 18 La croix Ducru? Several places have it for $30 but the Abv of 15% has scared me off thus far
Lots of options come through Oregon. I rotate checking the Aloha, Tigard and Wilsonville stores.
Recently, I’ve seen:
- 2018 Palmer
- 2019 Malescot St Exupery
- 2014 Cristal
- 2019 Giscours
- 2019 Fleur Cardinale
For those stuck in the generally lousy SE region, as of a few days ago, South Orlando had '19 Siran for $25.79 and '18 Clos Marsalette for $24.99. At that price, I would go back to pick up more Siran in a heartbeat but unfortunately I was on vacation and I haven’t seen it at home in NC. On the upside, it can be found for $35.99 at Wegmans, which is still a fair price.
Apologies if this was covered somewhere in the prior 3912 posts, but . . .
Does this rush of 2019 Bordeaux at Costco, at ridiculously low prices, signal anything broader about the wine market, or the Bordeaux market? Or is it more of a one-off thing where Costco got a bunch of one vintage and is clearing them out?
Does anyone know anything about why all this 2019 premium Bordeaux is going through Costco like this?
I believe someone mentioned that Costco bought a ton of 2019 early in COVID at low prices and is passing that on.
Costco is a regular buyer and seller of BDX. Pricing appears to reflect EP purchases. I am not sure of the timing of it being in retail now, but probably something to do with when they received and processed their containers.
EP from May/June 2020 orders landing in US. Nothing more than that and Costco margin cap at 13.9%.
Nothing about wine market other than BDX prices only go up from here for next few years, even at Costco.
Bought 3 and drank them all. Delicious wine, the alc. % seemed high, but it never poked out or showed and wasn’t all glossy for a nihht out like so many Napa wines. Bought it because of the NM 92 and I trust Neal and WK on BDX to align with my palate.
Why not “Why buy a Caymus when you can buy a LLC for a lot $30 less”
Stopped by Costco Boise #761 on Cole Road. Grabbed 3 more d’Issan at $47 and 3 Marquis de Calon Segur at $25. May go grab a case of Calon Segur at that price with AG94 and NM 92.
Grabbe
Ive had a couple and its a steal for $30. I did not detect any alcoholic heat and I normally like to stick to 14% or less.
