I am not sure why you are struggling with the concept. If you are that concerned then maybe this is not a dinner you should attend (not meant the way it sounds).
He did say I was bossy (there is a kernel of truth there). The funny part is besides being wrong about a French Bistro being able to offer foods that go well with SQN, Jen may be going instead of Todd.
You WISH Jen was coming, but with Fu confirmed, I can’t stay away.
I joke about the pairings because you all must acknowledge that SQN presents a more challenging assignment than a flight of Muscadet. I live for challenges
I beg to disagree. I remember a few years back an SQN dinner at Pinot Provence (when Florent was still chef) where there was no issue with the pairings. Mushroom risotto with truffles and a Syrah! Oh mama.
I don’t seem to remember Florent running out of the kitchen yelling “It cant be done, its impossible”. I do know that no one will walk away hungry, thirsty or lacking good fellowship, that is good enough for me and hopefully everyone else
If you get any cancellations just drop me message. I’d love to get to meet the rest of the crew as my plans to join the August meeting got trashed. I would also love to try some SQN. My wife and I really would enjoy meeting some convivial souls since we recently moved south to the OC. You guys know the local restaurants a lot better than we do so we have no useful opinions. We’ll make one of these get togethers someday.
Wait list me too please. Teachers me to be off the board for a bit. Cool of you to do this Jay and I have a bit of SQN just in case another bottle is needed.
I’m kind of wondering the same thing. Back in the day, there used to a fellow Berserker who would eagerly come to all of our wine gatherings. He would gripe about our cultish new world wines while smugly praising the $19 Muscadet he brought. I always wondered why he even bothered when he was already predisposed to be disappointed.
I would appreciate it if everyone could bring their own wine stems. Pescadou has stems, but I’m trying to lower the burden on them (especially considering there is no corkage). Pescadou, and the tables are small so I am also asking that you limit the number of stems (2 or 3).
