Oakville Winegrowers Cuvee. Thoughts??

OAKVILLE WINEGROWERS
THE OAKVILLE CUVEE2013_Oakville_Winegrowers_CS
2013 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Conjured from the exceptional 2013 Vintage, this absolutely brilliant wine, perfectly portrays the essence of Napa Valley’s prized Oakville appellation… With an Allstar line-up of Oakville producers contributing, the list includes some of Napa Valley’s most iconic Cult Cabernets… each are members of the Oakville Winegrowers, and contribute a small amount of extraordinarily high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon in collaboration to produce a one-of-a-kind Cabernet Sauvignon, benefiting the Oakville Winegrowers Association, a not-for-profit charity.

In the glass, an extraordinary set of aromas charm your senses, beginning with blackberries, crushed rocks, creme de cassis and leather, before opening up to plum, mocha and black cherries. A mere 100 magnums and 50 double magnums were produced, and each bottle is individually etched and numbered. We strongly recommend securing a Magnum or two of this remarkable and stunning wine.

I strongly recommend that they send me a few mags gratis!

Oh wait, it’s a blend? No terroir then.

Probably pretty good - I wouldn’t imagine that everyone dumped their crappiest juice into it, but it’s also an easy pass. There’s just so much good wine for less money. An interesting gimmick though.

To me this is a curiosity buy… somewhat considering…

not all of the members of OWGA contribute to this cuvee every year…and the winemaking rotates around the membership every 3-4 years IIRC. Current vintage winemaking is done by Gargiulo. Previous teams have been Far Niente and Heidi Barrett

My first thought was that someone bottled the spit buckets from a taste of Oakville trade event.

What he said ^^^^^… LOL
