A Mana Wine, Jersey City customer here, offsite storage only. Satisfied with prompt and helpful service and overall pricing.
I recently moved my wine to MWC. Very competitively priced, around half of what I was paying before. I was expecting the service to to be a little less than before, but no, it’s every bit as good. Great people to deal with, and having toured the Ramsey, NJ storage facility, the cooling and racking are top notch.
@Marc_Hanes is awesome. I am there because of him.
I don’t store there or anywhere for that matter but I know Marc Hanes for about 25 years and I would trust him with my wines.
Anyone know what the pull charge is at MWC? Thanks
Dan
I think it’s $2.5 per case accessed. First 5 cases that they access are free.
Delivery is free to MWC store in Chelsea and $30 to your home.
Dinesh that’s super helpful, I’m paying $6 per pull for case accessed and I feel like that’s a lot. I’m tempted to transfer my wine especially that they will ship to their store in manhattan for free.
Last year I moved to MWC, after many years at a local warehouse. So far, I have been really impressed; service has been excellent; they are responsive and easy to deal with. Price wise it’s just about half of what Iused to pay. Highly recommended
.
I have been delighted with MWC so far (about 4 years (?) with them. It says a lot that I couldn’t even sign up with them when I first wanted to because their facility was full. Their new storage facility is even closer to me. Very responsive team. Agree with @Robert_Dentice re: @Marc_Hanes - just superlative customer service and attention.
Thanks Mark and John for the input, I am definitely leaning to transferring my wine there.
I have had storage with MWC nearly a year now and am very happy with everything. I use it as a hub as much as for storage of bottles to drink when I am in NY, and I have been quite impressed at the speed and efficiency with which bottles are brought in and pulled out for delivery or shipping.
Added bonus #1 - they do regular pickups (2+ times per month) in Delaware at the auction house warehouses, plus make the rounds at just about all the major Manhattan stores as well as places like Zachy’s. Transport charges are minimal and you just fill out a form online. Time and money saved.
Added bonus #2 - the connection with their retail operation means access to some choice burgundy and other European allocations, including a lot of unusual things you do not see every day. The offerings are not as frequent, but on a qualitative level with Chambers Street. There is a tremendous wine intelligence guiding this place.
As I am in the trade, my needs are different (less storage, more logistics), but I can state that I always try and use MWC whenever I have a project in the Northeast. The team is great, the attention to detail always impresses and the prices are always quite fair. It’s a top team with great products and services.
Another little known advantage of the Ramsey location if you pick up your wine, is the nearby pizza joint, Kinchley Tavern. When I was doing due diligence and inspecting the warehouse, we sent out for pizzas. All very good, except the extremely strange but incredibly delicious eggplant and cherry peppers combination. None of my local pizza places have been able to recreate it, and I get cravings.
They also make a very good egg cream
Mediocre calamari though
Just want to thank everyone, I am moving my wine to the Ramsey location Joel has been incredibly helpful. Looking forward to having some pizza when i visit.
Is that just at the retail location or can you get them at the warehouse too?
Sorry, I was talking about Kinchleys Tavern, the pizza place in Ramsey mentioned above
Are these allocations specifically open to storage customers or do you just mean generally and that it’s then easy for them to go straight to storage?

I am not certain there since my first experience with MWC was as a new storage climate. Here in Texas at the clubs where I belong or have belonged, it is typical for storage clients to get advanced notice, but I am not sure if that is the case with MWC. I was just happy to see, for example, that they offer the full Claude Dugat range- the list of US retailers who do that is pretty short.
Got it. I use them for storage (they’re great) and unaware of any retail incentives available to clients. I do not load up on burg though. The storefront is pretty nice either way.
