I don’t know what you think my ideas are. I’m just here for conversations about wine and the other finer things of life. Not here for confrontation, which you seem to enjoy.
My mother will have a Mimosa with any and all sparkling wine or champagne that we bring over. We are visiting my parents today and will be bringing a bottle of the Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Sparkling Wine. I am the DD but will see what my wife thinks of the latest batch of the Roederer.
This thread has gone on way too long for no particular reason. I’ve had the NV Veuve about 10 times in the last 6 months and it isn’t any better. It’s decent but overpriced. It’s better than the much more expensive ace of spades, though.
It’s poured for emirates business and in the lounges which is really the only place I have it unless someone orders it in the club for whatever reason.
They’re pouring 2003 P2 now. I’ll usually fly first out and business back home; it’s not a lot of miles to upgrade if available but I usually don’t care as much about return trips. I fly premium class internationally a lot so try to conserve my points as mich as possible.
I agree first is better but for 5th freedom emirates flights I don’t think it’s the best deal. It’s good for cents per point, no doubt, but it’s only a 8 hour flight.
Business gives you lounge access, bags, and decent amenities. If you’re going through Dubai definitely first.
The problem with emirates points flights is that it’s not super easy to book first with points especially on the super popular jfk/mxp route; it’s much easier to book business and upgrade (and much fewer pts). On my last flight it was something like 150k points to fly flyers out and business back with on board upgrade and the first class was 350k each. First was full on the way back anyways.
With emirates you also have the option of booking a cash business ticket and upgrading earlier, which is sometimes worth it.
I definitely book first if I fly Singapore, Cathay, ANA, etc.
That’s a decent price. I haven’t had Deutz in more than a decade but I recollect liking it in the past. Really good pricing on Champagne, from my quick peek at the website. Aubry Rose for $46? I am in for a case! Thanks for the info. I find myself in Tumwater fairly often.
Exactly. People love to hate the VC Yellow Label, but there is literally not a thing wrong with it. Not sure it’s worth the asking price posted here, but you can always count on it being a decent bottle.
