“Notes on Eight Four Wines” sounds like weekday for Richard Jennings.
Or a morning for Parker.
Any word on these wines? I just got the following offer in my e-mail:
“Our first releases are very limited. We produced just 300 cases of 2009 Petite Sirah and 600 cases of 2012 Malbec. The wines are now available to you, and other direct mail list members, as a mixed six-bottle pack comprised of two bottles of the Petite Sirah and four bottles of the Malbec. The six-bottle pack is priced at $500 and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.”
600 cases is a limited supply?
I checked out the website. Only available to purchase in California if I’m reading it right.
I was also curious as to why they are releasing two wines that are three years apart. The Petite Sirah is 40 months in 100% new French oak! That might turn some people off, but I would love to try it. If the fruit can handle it, the wine could turn out to be spectacular.
600 cases is not quite enough for one bottle for every 2.5 Berserkers so, yes, I’d say that’s limited production.
I originally read that as 1984 wines, in which case I was going to crack some jokes about them being “double-plus-good” and being a good wine from the Ministry of Plenty.
Looks like I did it anyways.
They are probably great wines, but $83 a bottle, bundled into a six pack, for an inaugural vintage of Malbec and PS, that’s tough.
They misuse the word comprise so I’m out.
I don’t blame you.
I can’t tell you how many customers I’ve lost forever based on my grammatatatical misteaks.
And if you look at their website, you’ll see that the 84 comes from 1984:
