Apparently some people are betting that the anti-alcohol trend will be a money maker.
For your consideration, this vintage-dated dealcoholized French sparkler. A mere $119.
Sounds kinda like the wine anti-equivalent of Jolt Cola.
Non-alcoholic beers are amazing. In fact I don’t drink beer with alcohol anymore. I’ve found it difficult to replicate the same experience with wine.
fify
To be honest, if someone manages to get non-alcoholic wine to the level of the best non-alcoholic beers, then it is a game changer for me and probably a very good business overall.
Full of singularity?

The good alcoholic beers taste 10x better than the crappy mass produced beers with alcohol.
I first was put off by the idea that non alcoholic beer could cost more than regular beer…then I realized it was more work and cost to make it. But…still its only a couple bucks each. Its not for me but I’m sure there is a market for this. Every place I go to eat now has a mocktail menu and those are not cheap.
Hold My NA Beer…
This is a case of conspicuous abstention.
As someone involved in a restaurant group, I’m all for the non-alcohol trend. The margins on “mock-tails” are phenomenal. Folks flock to a good bartender that makes great mock-tails as much as they flock to a good bartender that makes good regular cocktails. I guess no reason that can’t extend to wine, assuming the product itself is good.
That certainly makes sense!
What do they use for alcohol free vodka, Evian?
I live in Sweden and na beers/cocktails are a massive market here. The laws here are zero tolerance for drinking and driving, so the n/a options become a necessity. I still buy a fair amount of beer with alcohol, but we definitely go through the n/a options quicker.
If they are able to make great quality n/a wines, I’ll all for it. I’m a bit skeptical though. Lots of great sparkling teas and juices available though.
i believe you, and i was just joking with you.
having moved to where i currently live in october, i recently told some friends (who work in f&b) lately that the lack of good beer here has helped me lose 10 pounds.
Put this NA sparkler on your list at $200 and see if your customers are so enthusiastic.
You mean $480
shit like this is why people go out to eat less
Sweden is not zero tolerance, 0.02.
Estonia is zero.
Might sound pedantic and it is, but as an anecdote, I was “detained” in Stockholm for having used mouthwash 10 minutes prior.
The classic “if doing something is good, then doing it enormously more must be better” fallacy.
Nobody goes to the mock-tail bar anymore. Its too crowded.
