I bought and drank a lot of Idlewild over the years. Dropped off the list last year as part of my overall cessation of buying, but wish them well in the future.
Hey folks, as I have mentioned several times when posting about Idlewild Wines, their Sunday School events etc, I am not the Thomas DeBiase that is mentioned in the article or email that Sam sent this morning.
Thomas is my son and has been with Sam and Idlewild since 2018. My relationship with Idlewild and Sam goes back to his first vintage in 2012. From the beginning I enjoyed the Idlewild wines and getting to know Sam who is simply a wonderful person and excellent farmer, grower, winemaker.
Back to the article and email, I knew about the purchase for a couple of months but honestly learned more about the purchase and plans from reading the Chronicle article and Idlewild email than I knew before.
With Idlewild I think it’s a tremendous opportunity to further expose the quality of Italian varietals grown in California when in the hands of a skilled winemaker like Sam.
