Nice QPR: 2009 Sella & Mosca Riserva Cannonau Di Sardegna

This is $10.99 at Costco, and I don’t think I’ve had a $10 wine this year with this combination of character and drinkability. Between medium- and light-bodied, sweet cherry and cranberry fruit, bright acidity, relatively evolved and showing some maturity characteristics, and a hint of brett. A soft and silky mouthfeel punctuated by the juicy acidity. (If you are completely brett intolerant, this one is a no-go.) Very food friendly (though some of its charm might be lost with heavier fare).

Really like this too. Sells for $15.95 here. Good QPR. Bretty, savory, lightly oxidative. Really nice food wine.

I like most of their wines. They have a true sense of place/typicity.
