I grew up in the Episcopal church.

When I took my first communion, I said to myself “gee that tastes familiar”

It took me a while to realize that Christ’s blood was in fact Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry.

That was one of the few wines my parents would buy on a regular basis.

I think many churches around the world use sweet wines for Communion.

In Tuscany it is Vin Santo, hence the name. And the flavors of Vin Santo are not all THAT far from Harvey’s Bristol Cream.
