New York City, aka Manhattan and the boroughs BYO

Don’t piss me off. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.

I’ll still go but will steer clear off of the nuked fish and Michel when he turns green.

Just had dinner at La Sirene last night and they’ve doubled (if not more) their size and redecorated. But still BYO and food’s still outstanding, though noise level is a tad louder due to the angular surfaces. Decoration-wise, I preferred it when it was a quaint little hole in the wall, but man that food is good.

“Re-decorated”? Wouldn’t it have had to have been decorated in the first place? neener

Did he confuse you with Dominique Strauss-Kahn?

Looks like Ivo and Lulu is no more - sheriff seized it. Tax lien. Maybe it will reopen?

Anyone have firsthand experience with corkage at Trestle on Tenth?

Thanks.

Perhaps, call the place and speak with a manager.

Lotus of Siam is still open 7 days a week. No corkage fee on Mondays, normally a $25 fee.

Was anyone eating there? [stirthepothal.gif]

Welcome to WineBerserkers ROBIN.

Why would I want to go there? Nothing like the real deal in Vegas.

Well, if you worked as a wine steward there you might want to advertise your no-corkage Mondays… [stirthepothal.gif]

Welcome to Wineberserkers ROBIN MCGRATH.
My one experience at Lotus of Siam, NYC will prevent my return forever.

+1

Do a search on LoS NY, you might be interested in what you find… pileon

I didn’t realize I was supposed to identify myself if I worked there. I’m very new here, so sorry! But I really wasn’t trying to hide anything, I read that we’re supposed to use full names here for accountability, etc. I do work as a somm at Lotus here in NYC.

We just added corkage-less mondays within the past few weeks, so I saw this thread and thought I’d let everyone know. Obviously I’m not speaking officially for Lotus, I just had some info that I thought I should post. I did also find the negative thread about LOS NY from last year. Unfortunately, I wasn’t working there then, so I can’t respond to the individual charges of bad service. I gather it was during the soft opening? I’m sure a lot has changed since then, so I would hope that those that had a bad experience would have come back after the real opening. (I guess some people have decided never to return? That’s okay, I won’t try to convince you otherwise since I wasn’t around for the original incident.)

Anyway, I’d love to see any of you at Lotus, and we’re always looking for ways to improve. If any of you come in or are coming in feel free to PM me and let me know or give me feedback about your experience. I’m just a somm a few days a week, but I can certainly pass on any feedback!

Sorry to be so long, I just did not mean to offend anyone. This seems like a really cool community and I’m pretty new to the wine business. Still learning a lot, and am hoping to do some of that learning here. Thanks!

LOS was already listed in the first post. I’ve edited it to reflect your information. [cheers.gif]
