New Years Eve Champagne?

Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle “La Cuvée” What’s yours going to be?

This is a wonderful, but very difficult, question to start thinking about. I haven’t decided yet. I am leaning towards Philipponnat Clos des Goisses.

1990 La Grande Dame
NV Cedric Bouchard
Few bottles of $30 NV.

I love NYE champagnefest!

It will include Dom and Krug then some Pierre Peters.

Schramsberg

An affordable grower in the late afternoon (Agrapart Terroirs, Marc Chauvet Séléction, or Chartogne-Taillet Cuvée St. Anne) and a '95 Krug with dinner.

YUM! Just discovered this recently. Need to get some more…

Yes. champagne.gif

Is this something y’all drink at midnight, before dinner, with dinner (obviously this is the answer for Todd French), or at some other point on New Year’s Eve?

I rarely by midnight either feel like opening a bottle of Champagne, or would really appreciate a good one if I did. But I turned 44 today, so I’m not a young fella either.

Chris 44 is young (and Happy Birthday!), Pol Roger 2002 for me.

Cheers, Howard

Whatever I’m popping at the club yo

@ Howard: Two weeks ago Pol Roger 2002 was very, very good.

For me: Lallier BdB.

Eric, yes I agree, BTW looking forward to the release of the 2002 Sir Winston, should be a special wine!

Cheers, Howard

In which case your answer would be “none.”

There will no doubt be multiple bottles, but for certain 1990 Paul Bara Grand Cru, maybe 1995 Taittinger Comtes, 2000 Clos des Goisses, and maybe 1999 Winston Churchill. Plus, I have taken delivery of a large number of 2002 and 2004 champagnes I haven’t tried yet, so some of them might be sacrificed.

…and step it up Chris, I am a year older than you!! neener

Bolly rd 85 and taittinger comtes rose 02. A geriatric and a baby.

Most likely a NV de Sacy or Triolet brut blanc. Will open a Gruet if a friend from New Mexico shows on New Years Eve. The Gruet story is pretty interesting if you don’t know it.

NV Clouet Brut Rosé and 2004 Vilmart Grand Cellier d’Or

I will be working, so nothing too nice. Probably A. Margaine. Now I have to decide between Cuvee Trad. or Rose.

Possibilities are:

Contadi Castaldi Franciacorta Rose’
Jean Velut Brut Tradition
or Heart & Hands Brut Rose’ Finger Lakes

Affordable stuff. I did get some large format bottles of Anchor Christmas beer. So it could be that!
