A lovely lunch at Restaurant Panurge in Paris today gave us the opportunity to try these two.
2023 Domaine Noël Ramonet et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes : Ripe, accessible and ebullient from first pour. Rich and heady. Plenty of spice and sappy peach fruit. Tightens in the glass to show a streak of mineral. Good volume and excellent length.
2023 Domaine Noël Ramonet et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet: A little stricter than the Ruchottes on first pour and possesses a hint of the exotic so far as the fruit profile is concerned. There’s some aniseed and spearmint and smoky mineral notes. It is silky and soft through the middle. Acidity is gentle but it finishes with energy.
