Anybody have any experience w/ any of these wines? Should I sign up for their mailing list? Are they highly allocated? And big scores from Parker or Galloni or Laube?? Should I give away my first born son to acquire these wines? Or my girlfriend? Or my cat?

Say whot…no help at all from you folks?? Shocked…I am. I thought you all were cutting edge?? I’m going back to the Squires board.

I got this joke of a catalog from Wine Country Gift Baskets. Based in Fullerton, CA, in the heart of the WineCountry:
WCGB

I started to toss it directly, but, for some reason (like don’t have a life) I started to thumb thru it. I saw a whole bunch of wineries I’d never heard of. Holy $hit…a golden opportunity to follow all these wineries from the very start. Why…I could even go out on the WineBoards and brag about it.

After a bit of investigation (thank you, Google), I figured out these are all labels for Houdini Wines:
HoudiniWines

Based in the NapaVlly…so they must be important.Though they also have a Fullerton address where they market…wine country gift baskets.
Have no idea who these folks are. No names…no nuthin. Only have an e-mail: HSPATER@HOUDINIWINES.COM

Anyway…an amusing way to waste 15 minutes of you time…sorta like reading about Maison Ilan, I guess.
Tom

I recommend you contact Tom Hill. He follows everything from the very start.

I’ve known abut Houdini for years. One of my old colleagues used to be their Rep and they used to do a friends and family sale each year. I’ve picked up some gift baskets as Christmas gifts there. It’s been years though and most of the wines in their baskets were pretty well known wineries. Run of the mill stuff.

Anyhow, sounds like they started going private label. Good for them, you need to work hard to stay profitable these days.

Trying to give Bronco wine some competition?
