TIA
I got the offering too. Rosemary Cakebread’s new offering. I enjoyed her tenure at Spottswoode but have to assume this is another Corra type offering selling at $125 a bottle or more for the three packs. It has Cab Franc and Petit Verdot in the 07 mix. Only 100 cases available. These people truly beieve we are junkies for their heroin.
At that price Jack, I’d be out.
I tend to remember Piper trying this wine recently. Let me see if I can get him to chime in.
Rosemary makes her wine where I do, but I have not tried this wine. Was hoping to, but just did not get the chance. She made all those good Spottswoodes, including the 07 I think, so she has quite the pedigree.
I received the email today. As feared and expected $125 a bottle for 3=$375.00 for a wine that no one has tasted. Maybe it will be good, maybe it will be great.
No maybes about it, I pass. ![]()
Tasted it at the Shiverick Jones tasting on Friday, don’t recall being wowed by it. Several other cabernets tasted this weekend were superior.
well a certain someone gave this a 99.
has anyone tasted this?
Disclaimer; I import it into Denmark.
I agree with Roy, that pedigree and expertise is there. I think the wine is everything RP says it is. You can always discuss whether it is 99 or maybe 97-98, but to my taste it is absolutely in that range. An amazing debut to say the least, and from my current portfolio, it competes favorably with the best names. Tasted a lot of 125$ wines that does not come close to this. That said I think Seven Stones is underrated by 3 points

You can only sell crack if the addicts are buying. ![]()
I picked up a 3-pack earlier in the year. If you are on the Corra list, Celia sent out a note introducing this new wine from her friend Rosemary.
My notes from cracking one in May: Very acidic upon initial opening. Decanted all day. Red berries, red currant mixed with black fruits. Sorbet-like blend and smoothness. Great body and balance. 95+
