Folks, this is an amazing transfer of staff (Manager, Maitre d’, Chef, Server) from Wine Seller and Brasserie to a new place called Paon. The quality is just as excellent as you remember at WS&B and the prices are much more palatable. The place was full, but Steve was able to handle everything effortlessly.
My entree was the flat iron steak ($21) and it was superb, great quality meat and perfectly prepared. Mel and mom were extremely happy with their fish.
The caviar was just a notch below WS but also half price at $75.
The gazpacho was as good as always, the best in San Diego.
This place is definitely worth a visit or two for our out of town guests. Great food, but meeting Steve, priceless.

PS And the amuse bouche was a nice big piece of seared foie gras on pastry with apricot and red port reduction (?)
