Need Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Bergen restaurants

Friends we travel with aren’t real foodies in that ** and *** are probably out . . .

It’s been a year or so since I visited, but in Stockholm I enjoy the following less fancy but very good places:

  • Rolfs Kök
  • Restaurant AG

Both have good wine lists as well.

Have been meaning to visit Leijontornet in the old town, IIRC the recently got a * but the prices are relatively modest and you probably won’t complain about the wine selection there as well.

And a second planned to visit is Stockholm Stadshotell.

With all the above you have a quite nice spread across the various islands Stockholm is built upon. The only area “missing” is Östermalms but you could make a stop by Saluhallen (Food Hall).

Hey Alan,

Quite a few useful posts on the topic already, see below:

Hope this helps, and enjoy!

in oslo fyr bistro is fantastic and well priced. the chef used to work at per se and it shows up in the food despite the casual garden seating. for stockholm, babette is really fun with a great wine list.

The Copenhagen posts are pretty accurate and up-to-date. If you’re searching for something specific, do post in there and we’ll help!

Awesome hotel in Stockholm with a great food program and wine list: Ett Hem

Stockholm:
Ett Hem for both hotel and restaurant
Bord
Amalia
Triton
Leijontornet (i like going for the wine bar and a couple heavy apps)
Nook is reopening which is always fun.

Just got back from a week in Copenhagen.

No Michelin star restaurants, but some on their list.

My favorite was Montergade. Marv and Ben was next. Admiralgade 26 was good. And, NR. 30 had very creative dishes, but very small restaurant.

All around $100 per person for food. Their lunches of open faced sandwiches are very good. Enjoyed Le Petrus, Montergade and Schonnemann’s. Enjoyed restaurant Karla also. All reasonably priced.

Copenhagen’s food was exceptional across the board. And, don’t forget to go to Tivoli Gardens- magical!

Bergen: Trekroneren - just a hot dog and sausage stand outside near the main pier in the tourist area. Fantastic. Ate there for lunch with a canned beer from the store across the street. Wish we ate there again for dinner instead of a fancy french place that was underwhelming.

In Bergen, I can highly recommend Moon. A place run by 2 brothers. Nice wine list. A Michelin mention but no stars. Small and fabulous service. Centrally located. Local Norwegian type food with a more modern twist. We loved it.

Merci
