Tag on this - mine is on last legs as well. Would love a rec for something short of the SUPER AMAZING AWESOME KEEPS YOU $1,000 BOTTLES ICE-ASS COLD models. Just want something that can knock 20-30 degrees off of ambient temp and doesn’t make noise or need to be attached to pipes, vents, drains, etc.
If you are not in too urgent of a rush, look on Craigslist for wine coolers or wine cellars for sale. In September I picked up a Eurocave unit with a 90-100 bottle capacity for $350 in great condition with seven roll out shelves. They are not always there, but at least once a month they pop up, but be prepared to offer cash and pick up.
I just ordered a 500- 600 bottle setup from Wine Enthusiast. It is 2 separate units with door hinges that open from the left and right. The same item was on Costco’s website(another good place to shop) and Wine Enthusiast gave me a deal that was roughly the Costco deal. I was surprised that they offered to negotiate without being asked.Happy shopping
Second, if you’re not getting a unit with humidity control - that is, just a fridge - consider just getting a used fridge that might fit in the garage or large closet. You will quickly come to appreciate the extra storage area and your money saved. There is info available re hacking the temp control if “high” is still too cool for your preferences.
Be aware that most small wine fridges are merely that: small, overpriced fridges that don’t cool as well or as cheaply as their larger cousins. I think the entire product class is just a little bogus.
