Some Livermore wineries are setting up collection boxes for donated goods, as well as donating a portion of this weekend’s sales:

Also in Livermore, Friday morning at Granada Bowl, Two Men and a Truck will be trucking donated supplies, a convenient way for people in the tri-valley to donate goods without having to drive up:

On Friday Oct 13th 2017 at 8:00am- 12 pm
M&M Hansen Communications, is teaming up with Two men and a Truck to hold a emergency drive for the people that have been affected by the fires in Napa and surrounding areas.
Granada Bowl has graciously allowed us to hold the drive in there parking lot
Located at 1620 Rail Road Ave. Livermore CA.
We are asking people to bring water, blankets, dog and cat food, non perishable food and diapers/wipes.

These people have lost every thing so any clothing, toys, unused person hygiene products and etc will be greatly appreciated.

Without a doubt we need to focus this year’s BerserkerDay on Napa/Sonoma wineries, in particular those affected by the fires, but all of us wine lovers should prepare to spend plenty of money (tourism and wine purchases) in the area to help build it back up!

I’ve been getting emails from K&L wines regarding various raffles of wine and whisky with proceeds to organizations coordinating relief. It’s kind of difficult to find on the website but a search for “raffle” will yield the various raffles going on at the moment.

McGrail in Livermore is holding a fund drive this weekend:

Disaster Relief Fundraiser
Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th
12-4:30PM

The Livermore Wine Growers Association has organized a fundraising drive to aid the victims of Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties from the disastrous fires. McGrail Vineyards will donate 15% of all wine sales this weekend to Disaster Relief Funds for Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino. In addition we will collect monetary donations for these funds all weekend. All monies collected will be delivered to those agencies on Tuesday Oct. 17. Come help us support the victims of this terrible catastrophe. We will also have live music by Nick Tyrrel on Saturday, October 14th from 12-4pm.

"One of our initiatives is through the Community Foundation of Sonoma County, a 501c3 that supports local Sonoma County charities and has been doing so for over 30 years. They have the ability to get funds where they are needed most, at the individual level, quickly and effectively. Through the local charities they will fund a variety of needs from food distribution to shelter to health services. They have set up an emergency fund called the Sonoma County Resilience Fund. Williams Selyem will match donations up to a total of $10,000.

Thank you for this thread. The response to this disaster in some quarters has been shameful and disgusting. When there is a hurricane or earthquake, wherever it is, there is (rightfully) an outpouring of sympathy and support without judgment, with reliable support organizations promoted everywhere. In this situation, an equally devastating event, the web is filled with blame for the victims, either for merely living in California (hence somehow deserving of God’s justice) or for moving to an area where wildfires occur (as if moving into a flood plain is without risk).

It’s been very difficult to find support organizations anywhere other than on wine related sites. Thanks to this thread and Vinous, I found a couple of ways to help in my own small way.

K & L raffle

All raffle proceeds will be split evenly between the orginizations. There are no limits on raffle tickets purchased. Raffle tickets can be purchased through midnight next Tuesday October 17th, and the winner will be drawn Wednesday morning.

Lot 1: 40 Years of Napa

"FIRE NEWS - HOW YOU CAN HELP

Fires, they are on all of our minds, and AVWA wants you to know that Anderson Valley’s wineries and vineyards are safe.

That said, all of us in Anderson Valley know people, friends, who have lost wineries, vineyards, businesses, and homes - both in and out of the wine industry.

Here in Mendocino County, Frey Vineyards has lost their winemaking facilities and vineyards, and several other vineyards have been destroyed. Entire neighborhoods in Redwood Valley are gone, and more devastation threatens both Redwood and Potter Valleys.

Monetary donations for those affected by the Redwood Complex Fire can be made online to the Community Foundation of Mendocino County (communityfound.org).

Anderson Valley is open, not for business as usual, but open. We are serving our community, and many long scheduled events at wineries are continuing but as fundraisers.

Of course, the fires reach beyond Mendocino County as well. AVWA has a winery member in an industrial park on Hopper Avenue in Santa Rosa, near the Coffey Park neighborhood that was obliterated, and miraculously their winery still stands, although clouds of smoke and continuing threat of fire loom still.

Wineries and vineyards in Sonoma, Napa and Lake Counties have been lost, and more are imperiled as containment is nil and winds pick up today.

33 wineries and 1 cidery will be pouring at the Golden Gate Club on the Presidio in San Francisco from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Each participating winery will be donating a hand signed large format bottle of wine - or three regular sized hand signed bottles, and more wineries, inns, and restaurants may offer silent auction lots in support of the fire relief efforts.

We’re getting reports that donation drives’ trucks are full and that charities are inundated with food and clothing. Probably these donations are still helpful, but not immediately. What they are asking for is hygiene products, bedding, pillows, towels, etc. Everything in your house except what’s in your pantry or dresser. Or money is always helpful.

Larry, the Go Fund Me campaign, at least the one I supported seems to be doing well today. It’s just under 300K collected. I was glad to see that today.
