Myriad’s new canned sparkling Pinot Grigio

Myriad announced new canned Pinot Grigio. What’s your take on this? Do you think it will hurt Myriad’s reputation?

Curious, why would you assume it would hurt their reputation? They already have 2 canned offerings, they seem to be doing okay. Personally, I find them quite good and convenient.

I didn’t know they offered canned wine before.

I’m a bit surprised they don’t sell these canned wines through a different brand as they don’t seem to fit in with Myriads fairly prestigious brand identity. However, they do keep them in the Canifornication series, I think they donate some of the proceeds, and they seem to market it as less seroius, fun wine, so it’s not like they’re trying to pass this off as the next Dr Crane or anything, so more power to them.

They do two canned Rosés, a still and a sparkling.

These were a big hit this summer. Had to hide a few to make them last an extra few weeks.

The price kept us to one purchase. Will order again next year if offered.

Hi Craig Teets, We make the cans in a less serious, more for charity and fun casual way - to enjoy wine on the go! They were originally designed to donate to Keep Tahoe Blue as we love the outdoors and found it challenging to find good wine In a can on our outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking, skiing, golf etc. We seem to have found a niche for a lot of people who want a good wine ( not in glass) The cans will strictly be Rose’ , Sparkling Rose and White Wine - Obviously, not shooting for our top Cabernet or Red Wine for the Canifornication Series - just meant to be convenient, good and fun. Some day I may splice them off - but right now…its just a little add on for Myriad. Hope this helps, thanks for the support - any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach to me directly, email or phone - Leah Smith

I think it would only hurt their reputation if the quality of the wine itself was sub-par. I can see where this packaging could be convenient for summer trips etc.

This is an important step in preparing to be bought by Constellation or Gallo.

I’m definitely curious, but a 24 pack is a bigger commitment than I feel like making.

I love beer in a can and will not drink any wine in a can!

Funny, I think this fits perfectly with Mikes personality. Good wine anywhere, what’s better?
