I figured this could be interesting
This is mine this week
Our family use to have a cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains and we had to drive our garbage and recyclables to the transfer station (dump) and I always looked to see if any of the locals and visitors were drinking anything interesting. There were almost always a couple of surprisingly good to great empties mixed in with the typical supermarket plonk.
Bookmarking this thread, so much potential.
Edit: My recycling got picked up today so no pic
Yeah, you and Rudi!
What was in that funny purple can?
Thanks Kris. It did look like a 94 pointer.
Your alcoholic beverage:milk ratio looks pretty even.
That’s your weekly bin? Kudos on the cleanliness, but the quantity is, well,…
Not last week but here is the round up of the last longer, two week holiday. Featuring two bottles contributed by the neighbors, which ones?
@MaciejK What did you think of the Twardowski?
We didn’t enjoy it so much I am afraid. A 2018, closed and hard as nails. I am letting my remaining bottles rest and I skipped the last two vintages but I intend to come back. A more mature bottle I had about 3 years ago was much more inviting. More say a Corton than a spaetburgunder, lean and muscular, with good acidity.
What vintage and how was the Franck Balthazar?
According to my trash then I am turning in @Robert_Dentice…
Isn’t this thread just the slightly greener, weekly consolidation, version of the “what wine are you drinking tonight?”
Yes but with pictures of trash!
You don’t need more opportunities to talk about what you drank?
A 2016 I believe.
I cannot be sure anymore, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. I struggle a bit with Balthazar wines, I stopped enjoying (and buying) CdR and Cuvee Casimir sometime ago, and I tend to open the big wines too early. Crozes as a daily drinker is fine. But I noticed that Syrah in general is not as mine anymore as it used to be, so make your own calls!
It’s the non-wine products that really have me coming back
Ouch… Rotkäppchen and Syrah Rose?
