My first red TN in a while; 2009 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Santo Spirito

2009 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Santo Spirito - Italy, Sicily, Etna DOC (9/15/2020)
Wow, what a steal for $37. We were looking for a lighter bodied Italian red for dinner, and this hit the target. Red fruited (strawberry, cranberry, cherry), fine but generous tannins, and barely noticeable oak, this started with the acidity dominating. The fruit blossomed after two hours in the glass, so I’ll let my remaining two bottles rest a while. (91 pts.)

Btw, this is one of the Contrada-wines. Contrade are a kind of larger single vinyards in that area. So you might call this a single-vineyard wine. Weinlagen
