Moving Wine. cellar

The company I originally contracted with in DC is getting out of the business. They were to pick up, hold for a few weeks, and deliver… Charlottesville, VA to Frederick, MD. They may wind it down over time so I still have a chance.

Until I hear for sure I’m looking for alternatives. I’ve contacted Western Carriers for a quote.and am waiting for a response.

All suggestions welcome.

Hi Bob,
I shipped a couple of pallets from SoCal to Delaware last year. The cost was $550/pallet cross country. It wasn’t fast, but I wasn’t in a hurry and the weather wasn’t an issue.

Domaine moved my cellar a couple months ago and it was an excellent experience in all respects. This was an interstate move between storage facilities in the Northeast. The Domaine folks were accommodating with dates and even proactively revised the moving estimate downwards as the date of the move approached. Happy to recommend them.

I went with Domaine. They beat Western Carriers by half. For us they will store in DC which is perfect.

Excellent! My move (albeit a fairly short one from NY to MA) was reasonably priced, as well. If this is not just a cellar move, then best of luck for the relocation!
