Montreal Restaurants

The following were unique in their decor and food. Service was spot on at all three places…

Mon Lapin - stand outs were Sea Urchin, Duck ravioli, steak tartare, celery root and mushrooms, and scallop sandwich - Enjoyed a 2021 Jean-Yves Devevey - Rully ‘La Chaume’ Blanc

L’Express - Bone marrow, Rillette du canard, and poached salmon - Enjoyed a 2020 Domaine Coste-Caumartin St Romain, Le Clos du Chateau

Monarque - Tuna Tartare, Veal checks, and mignardises - Enjoyed a 2023 Camy Pinot Gris

Next stop Quebec City

Check out Atwater market for an incredible culinary adventure.

Marche Jean Talon not to be missed as well. May be more seasonal than Atwater but worth a visit. Closer to the Plateau whereas Atwater is in Little Burgundy.

I cancelled this trip on short notice, rescheduled for next month.
I have the same lineup. Was thinking whether I should drop one and substitute Vin Mon Lapin. I’m primarily pescatarian and normally don’t go for super rich food, which as me wondering about substituting for Joe Beef. Any comments on that, or dropping another one for Vin Mon Lapin?

(Wine list not a factor).

Thanks in advance!

I’d go to Vin Mon Lapin, our favorite of last summer’s Montreal trip. We didn’t go to Joe Beef so no A/B comparison for you. We haven’t been to the others except Le Filet, years ago. If they try to give you a crappy table mention you love Mario.

On the waiting list for Vin Mon Lapin, thanks.
