Vindependence Day
Patricia Green Cellars

Curated and Mixed Vintage 6-pack offering of the rarest Pinot Noir…in the world?

This is from the personal stash of Jim Anderson.

· The Story: In 2001 Patty and I had a half barrel of wine that consisted of about 20 gallons from a block of Wadensvil at Shea Vineyard and 10 gallons from the First Vines Block at the Estate Vineyard. Technically we could have put this in either the Shea Vineyard or Estate Vineyard bottling given the paucity of gallonage represented by the half barrel in relation to the large gallonage in either of those bottlings. But, that’s not how we rolled. The wine was amazing. The steep block of Wadensvil at Shea was our favorite of all the vast number of blocks we received that year and the First Vines Block at the Estate is the original 1984 planting that has, in 2017 and 2018, produced two of the most sublime bottlings we have ever made. 2001 was a wonderful vintage that has more than stood the test of time over the years. What we decided, ultimately, was that this was Our Wine and we could do whatever we wanted to with it. So, we bottled it on its own under the most under the radar bottling of Pinot Noir that may exist on this planet.

Singularity.

Since then the bottling became an amalgamation of tiny amounts of gallons from a few of our most special and favorite barrels in the winery. After the 12 cases or so that we produced in 2001 the bottling never topped 10 cases in production. After Patty passed away in 2017 we continued to produce it and I would give it away to the staff as a thank you for their hard work that has made Patricia Green Cellars a special place.

As special as these wines are in quality and quantity and how dear they are in terms of what they mean I find that I don’t really drink them. Most of the cases I have are unopened or never even left the winery. We bottled this every year from 2001-2023 except for 2003, 2009 and, of course, 2020. I am certain that I have 10 cases that I can part with. I am also going to be moving in 8 months or so and the less to take away/bring there for me the better.

I am writing this the day before Vindepedence Day begins so I don’t have an inventory but I am 100% certain I have wines from every vintage. The more recent the vintage the more likely it is to exist.

· The Deal: Sign up for the Love146 monthly donation as per Todd’s instructions to qualify.

· You Receive: 1 specially curated 6-pack of 6 individual vintages of Singularity complete with individual notes/tech sheets on each wine. Each 6-pack will be not only (probably) unique but individually tailored by me with you on vintages and styles of wine that you enjoy (this wine, obviously, has a wide interpretation to it). At some point I will run out of bottles from certain vintages so I will work on a first come first serve basis. However, you honestly really cannot lose. We opened a 2013 just this past week and it was gorgeous and youthful. Obviously the storage of the wines has been perfect.

· Cost: $700/6-pack.

· How To: This is being done directly through me and not the winery. Please e-mail me directly at jim@patriciagreencellars.com to secure your 6-pack. Also, since I am not running this through the winery this is a check only situation. Again, on a first come basis I will construct a list and work with folks, in order, to create their six-pack. If we get over 20 folks interested I will create a waiting list in case folks have buyer’s remorse and don’t send their check.

I would guess that less than 200 people have ever tasted these wines. The 2005 was featured at the post-IPNC 2005 tasting way back in the day and that would account for most of the people who have ever tasted even one vintage of this bottling. It has never been for sale. This is a cool opportunity to get something no one else has while supporting a great cause.

Hi Jim. Tried to send you an email, but it bounced back. I definitely want to order. Thank you so much!

Email sent!

Did you add .com at the end of his email? (It was originally listed just as jim@patriciagreencellars)

I got you. We do have a new security system that is a little aggressive. I would say try jim@patriciagreencellars.com one more time but if it doesn’t work DM me your email and I will write you directly which usually overrides the security function.

I was trying to forward you the recurring donation confirmation. Maybe it didn’t like that.

OMG folks, Singularity is INSANE!!! You could easily bring it to a Burg tasting and trick half the people there, if not more, seriously.

Hahaha. Now that’s customer service.

Terry, Jim and I discussed this trip while he was in Charlotte a few weeks ago. I might be persuaded to meet in the middle if you can’t make it to Oregon the week before Labor Day.

It’s been a busy work week. Im considering this offer, but I will not be able to access the donation website until later this evening.
