Most of the wines on that site (as you often see with wineries like BV and Mondavi) are priced so far above retail, even with a 20% discount it’s still a bad deal. But the To Kalon Fume Blanc is $50, and discounted to $42, it’s below the WSPro low by a dollar, and below most retailers by $6+. Worth a look.
We tasted the I Block Fume Blanc when we were at the winery a couple of weeks ago, and it was the single most surprising wine I tasted the entire trip (not the best wine, but the one that exceeded expectations by the largest margin). I didn’t expect to like it at all, and I was blown away. I still didn’t buy it because the tariff was steep, but if it were on sale, I’d be pretty tempted…
Actually, I should correct myself. It’s not accurate to say I didn’t expect to like it AT ALL, but I didn’t expect anything terribly special or interesting.
