This is our favorite mexican joint in Laguna Niguel, Mi Tierra. It is run by a very nice family and not only is the food excellent, but the prices are ridiculously low. They have specials every day and I always try to order it if I can. Today it was Molcajete Mixto w/ shrimp and chicken served in a traditional stone bowl(the molcajete) that is piping hot. The little cake on top is egg and cotija, just outstanding with this slow simmered sauce of chiles, tomatoes, tomatilloes, and I’m not sure what else. I’m going to have to look into it, anybody know anything of this dish? Anyway, served with corn tortillas, rice and beans for… $10!!! One of the best dishes I’ve had at any mexican restaurant ever…
