Milan Osteria or Trattoria

I am looking for a non pretentious osteria or trattoria in Milan. Downtown area. Great food and great wine is a plus. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Ratana is my favorite. Trippa is epic but reservations can be tough. A bit out of the way, but Trattoria del Nuovo Macello is about as traditional/old school as it gets and delicious.

Don,
we enjoyed Da Giacomo recently in Milan

I write about a couple of fancy seafood places in another thread, but if you want a very inexpensive locals place, Dongio for Calabrian food, especially pasta. Nothing fancy, very simple and home made pasta. Shockingly inexpensive.

Simple wine list though.

Thank you so much for this great information!

My daughter’s fiancé (who is from Milan) recommends Nebbia (a step above a trattoria, but €40-60 per person). I’ve not been there, but worth a look. https://www.nebbiamilano.com/

Had a nice dinner here. Deep wine list from what I recall.

The osteria right behind it looks very appealing with its outdoor seating and wine list, which you can view online:

Strongly second RatanĂ  and Nebbia.
