Never had one but Lafon must be high on the list. I have enjoyed Pierre Morey 's version and also Henri Boillot. I agree that Bouchard makes a great Perrieres.
for search purposes, you might want to correct spelling to Meursault
For the value seeker and lover of Roulot, Chateau de Puligny Montrachet makes an MP, and the house is owned by the de Montille family. As with all of their wines, Alix makes the whites, who’s husband is none other than JM Roulot. Etienne has told me they never turn away his advice. Easily found under the hundred dollar mark too. Huge sleeper wine. Grivault Clos Perrieres (the Monopole of MP) is another extremely overlooked effort, and far less than Roulot, Lafon and Coche.
This is the second time I’ve seen this assertion in two weeks. Where’s it coming from? Unless there was a sale of gigantic proportions that I somehow missed, the property is owned by a bank, but managed by Etienne de Montille.
I mean, nobody says Sylvain Pitiot owns Clos de Tart just because he manages it, right?
Matrot makes a serious version and is still relatively cheap. As noted, there have been premox problems, so I’m not aging them, but still by as you can find them for $50ish so very much worth it. Older vintages I’ve had have been great. Also in the same vein, really love Pierre Morey’s, but have had promox problems there as well.
Agreed on Bouchard and Boillot, although the latter has crept up in price. But the Bouchard is still quite affordable and very good. Jadot also makes a nice version and is priced well.
So plenty of great choices other than the great and expensive Coche, Roulot, and Lafon. Fortunately for us, one of the great 1ers that has tons of quality producers.
The most disappointing version for me is the Grivault “Clos des Perrieres”, which is supposed to be the best plot, but I’ve never had a bottle that didn’t underwhelm. So some duds (IMO) as well.
