I’ve recently found out about this winery in Carneros through a friend. I visited them last weekend and grabbed a few bottles. So far I’ve tried some of their Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, and Malbec. I’m impressed! Really delicious juice for a better price than most in the area.
Tonight I’m drinking their 2017 Cab Franc. A+!
Anyone familiar with this winery? What are your thoughts? I couldn’t find many comments about them here so decided to start a new topic…
Old school Napa, making really nice wines across the board. Bob Mueller, the founder, was a big part of the rise of Mondavi and then Opus One, eventually branching off the found his own winery in the early 90s. One of my more memorable tasting ever was at Mckenzie-Mueller. Bob’s daughter spent about 3 hours with us walking around the property tasting as we went, pulling multiple library wines. 01 Cab was particularly memorable
Hope you folks don’t mind me re-animating this thread.
I recently stumbled accross a couple of bottles of the M-M 2014 cab sauv buried under some other bottles in my basement. I bought these at a local grocery store that was closing them out cheap ($20-ish). I have no experience with the wine, but the Cellar Tracker notes seem to indicate that I should continue letting them sleep. But I am interested if any folks here might have any insight. Thanks in advance.
I have limited experience with this producer but a recent 2013 Tartan and 2019 Cab Franc were both enjoyable if on the young side. On the other hand, a 2002 Cab Franc yesterday was terrific and in the zone, though showing no signs of fading.
