Just saw the first episode of his new NBC show, The Chopping Block. The guy is awesome! No shouting, no cursing…cool, calm, collected, terrifying. Hope this show makes it.*

*Full disclaimer: My wife and I had dinner last June at one of the “restaurants” in the show during the filming of an episode. MPW was standing outside just as we went in. A pretty cool experience.

Sounds cool Jorge. He’s definitely more of an under the radar, i.e. no Iron Chef etc., kind of a guy and from what I’ve read about his style cooking and otherwise, I like him.

I was waiting for either:
“Let me take you by the hand”
or
“What are fingers for?”
(answer - burning)

in the first episode - but neither happened. These were his 2 catchphrases from Hells Kitchen.

Sorry. I missed that. I don’t really pay much attention to kitchen reality shows. They aren’t realistic.

My impression of him was formed by an article in Gourmet. So much for that.
