Marcassin 2006 Pinot Mailer

In.

Surprised no one has posted on this yet.

3 Sisters (3)
Blue Slide Ridge (5)
Marcassin Vineyard (10)

Apparently some wine will go to wait list folks. Also, the offer for the '07 chards is due early fall.

wow, thats quite an allocation. are they usually that high?

I was one of those on the list for a loooonnnngggg time and got the offer for the Chards in the spring. Sent a check right away- nada…zip…nothing from them. Called- voicemail full, and sent 2 follow up letters. Not any response whatsoever. Very nice.

Yes. Anywhere from 1-2 cases usually.

Seems to be the story

Apparently the mailer came with quite the manifesto on pinot styles - anyone care to post it…

I’ve had good experiences with these wines, but it would be nice if it didn’t seem like such a crap shoot merely signing up for the list.

Dying to know the missing detail – did they cash the check [stirthepothal.gif]

Sadly, it seems you can’t upload PDFs.

If you have their original PDF you should be able to cut and paste. Or take a photo.

Just got turned on to this via Dr. Vino blog:

The Mailer is here.
It is priceless. [popcorn.gif]

Someone sent this to me yesterday. What did poor Tom Watson ever do to anybody? [scratch.gif]

It is really an … amazing … piece of writing.

Well of course you’d say that, everyone knows Jay Miller is a fan of this type of wine newhere

that’s right - you know, fruit isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

No- check was never cashed. I am not sure, but think I have been on that list for at least 7 years. I know they have -0- Customer Service, but I am not interested in that…just the wines!

Wow, that mailer really is something.

For the record, I had an '06 Marcassin chardonnay last weekend (Three Sisters) that was undrinkable. I don’t know what happened to it, but it was totally vegetal. Like smelling cubes of vegetable bullion soaking in liquid. Zero fruit. My wife had a Cartledge and Brown chardonnay open, and it was instructive to put it to your nose next to the Marcassin to recalibrate yourself to the smell of chardonnay fruit. So, Helen and John, it happens to the best of them; Laflaive, DRC, and Marcassin too…

Dennis …thanks for links [cheers.gif] . Fascinating…I will read more.

Bad bottle? I’ve opened one of them (too early) that was fine.
