Red Currant and Cherry notes , underbrush and earth notes. Quality village wine. Concentrated and structured. A little less expressive phenolically compared to his brother’s but still excellent.

Thanks for posting. I love the pictures. It is one more additional data for 2020 red Burgundy as it is nearly black. Recent I am buying more and more AC Gevrey village as the price is right; and I am also doing many pairing tasting of Gevrey village wines made by different producers in Gevrey - for example Cluade Dugat and Dugat-Py plus and/or Pierre Damoy..etc..etc.
It is fascinating for comparative tasting event - that being said, I do no own any bottle of red by Boillot family. Maybe I should try…
Mike, what does this mean? Curious, because for what it’s worth, I tend to like Lucien/Pierre wines better than Louis wines. That includes liking the old school style before the split too so it’s definitely a feature of where Louis went. Coming to that conclusion took a few years and was not systematic at all. No clue yet how Clement’s winemaking will or won’t change that view.
Aroma less forthcoming at this juncture
We represent Lucien Boillot here in Ontario, so I’m biased, but I really like them; very little makeup, just terroir-expressive, down-the-middle, good-value wines from a number of excellent sites & holdings.
The Gevrey 1er Cru Cherbaudes is especially beautiful.
I just had the 2010 absolutely love it. Better vintage more maturity didn’t hurt either
