Low, or no corkage fee in Los Angeles area

Wondering if there are any suggestions on good restaurants in LA, which subscribe to a “no, or low corkage policy”? I do alot of wine dinners with friends, and we often bring 10 or more bottles to a dinner. Longo Chinese in Monterey Park seems willing to negotiate a good deal on corkage. We have eaten there many times. The images are from there.

While I do agree with some, that the food at the Water Grill is not gourmet, it does not suck. The atmosphere is nice, and the food is fairly unadorned grilled fish, meats, and simple sides. All very decent, the service is usually good, and the wine policy is downright amazing. How many successful restaurants offer a “no corkage fee policy”? Also, the one in Santa Monica seems to have slightly better food than the downtown LA location.

There is another restaurant in LA worthy of mention. It is called Colori Kitchen. Used to be in a hole in the wall downtown, but they have since moved to 2019 Venice Blvd., off Normandie. Very good Italian food, run by a friendly, passionate Italian chef. Home made pastas, and quite reasonable. The new dining room is much cozier, though simple. In addition, another of the few “no corkage fee” spots in LA.

Any others that you would recommend? No need to mention anything over $30 for corkage. That is the max I, and my wine group are willing to go.

The food at Longo is very good. They offer us a large, private room, come in and out with the food, and leave us alone. Usually a group of 10 or more. Huge, round table, with a lazy Susan in the center, so it is an ideal setup for both wine and food.

check out colori kitchen. never been, but was mentioned in the main LA restaurant thread.

I know Gus’s BBQ corkage fee in South Pasadena used to be $25, but I haven’t been back in about 2 years.
