Louisville eats

I’m double-posting this from the “Travel” forum as the number if views/replies is a bit…low.

Headed down for the breeders’ Cup, but haven’t been down to Louisville in quite a while and would love an update of the best places to eat. Looking for two kinds of recommendations - the DDD homecooking local type places, and of course the wine-friendly higher-end type places, though I would prefer to stick to smaller head-to-tail type places. Also, if there are good bars etc that I shouldn’t miss I would further appreciate it.

Lilly’s - High end
Seviche - Just outstanding. Nose to tail on the weekends
Jack Fry’s - tough reservation to get during BC, but worth the trouble
The previous three are within 3 furlongs of each other on Bardstown Rd.

Havana Rumba (St. Matthews location) - DDD
21C - See and be seen, but great food
610 magnolia - High(est) end, and great wine pairings

Where are you staying?

Staying at The Belterra. Love Jack Fry’s, but will probably be tough to get in there. Maybe Thursday night. Don’t know Seviche, but the menu looks great. Thanks!

Forgot one - Corbett’s, An American Place. Little under the local’s radar, but it has gotten some great press nationally.

The Brown. No other place to stay, no other place to eat… although 4th Street Live has some nice eats… wander and just pick what suits your mood

We did make it to The Brown Hotel and the place was great. The “Hot Brown” not so much. Wish I had ordered the burger.
