Heading into town this week for one of my bros ‘big birthdays’ and going to Partage Sat night. Was hoping to do Thai for an early lunch on Saturday and, believe it or not, have never been to LOS.
Suggestions? Go or no go?
Cheers

I last went there 2 years ago and, sadly, it was a shadow of its former self at the old location.
We’ve been to the new location a few times and thought it was great. Perhaps some of the dishes weren’t quite as precise as the old location but we really enjoyed it.
Well I’ve never gone and looking forward to at least trying it. @MChang , favorite dishes to try? I know it’s a place to get more ‘adventurous’ or ‘creative’ since most of the offerings are more traditional northern Thai - any and all guidance would be great. Of course I can just see what Bourdain ordered
And did I hear that Bank opened his own place? Anyone tried that?
Cheers
I’m all about the crispy duck curry, especially with glutinous rice. You can go with traditional northern Thai stuff certainly, I just typically go with my favorites.
Gotta go
Read about it years (decades?) ago on eBob and it’s a must do. Not the deal it once was, but always a great meal. Larb is excellent. Garlic Shrimp, Soft Crab salad, try lots of things.
Been many times over many years. It did how a down period, or so it seemed, but our last visit in March was very good. Similarity, I have friends who have been there a bunch, too, and they would say the same. It may not be what it was but it is still worth going.
Yes it’s worth it especially if you haven’t done it yet. Banks place is incredible food, but each time I’ve been in it’s been vacant of patrons unfortunately. So there hasn’t been any Vegas buzz its in a strip mall (yes the old Lotus was too, but a defunct mall) ect, but to some that might be a positive.
My go to:
Almost always to start
Nam Kao Tod (a dish I’ve never found locally)
Tempura shrimp
I haven’t been in probably 22-23 years. In a previous life, I had biz in LV twice a year and would eat at LOS several times on each trip. The Nam Kao Tod was always stunning and I’ve never ever seen it elsewhere.
I went 15 years ago when people said it was a shadow of its former self. I went 10 years ago when people said it was a shadow of its former self. It was fabulous both times. Just go.
exactly ha.
it doesn’t have the wine list it used to have, but the food is pretty similar still after all these years
Had a few meals at LoS in recent years, and it’s still good but when Bank departed, I think the wine list quality dropped? Had a good meal at Lamaii as well, but he departed there and has gone on to open Jipata: https://www.instagram.com/jipatavegas/
Really looking forward to LOS - plenty of other suggestions but nothing that is steering me away from there. I know the wine list is not what it used to be - and that’s okay - will still order at least one or two off the list and am bringing a bottle of my ‘dryish’ Gewurztraminer as well!
Cheers
