It sounds like Howard is out. I’m still in.
What’s the normal payment scheme? Do I need cash, card or can I Venmo someone?
HOME preferred the 5:00pm start actually. They’re OK with us being an incomplete party until 6:00pm. So if you can get there at 5:00pm, please do so. We won’t be rushed to leave. We’ll be seated on the lawn, bring a sweater.
We pay cash, so that’s preferable. Venmo is OK as backup if someone comes up short.
Looking foward!
Magical evening… thanks everyone for coming out. If you couldn’t make it, we’ll try again soon!

Was a beautiful evening and fabulous company! Such great food and some lovely wine. Thanx all and especially Uli for organizing. Sorry for having to leave early but I had a wonderful time.
How was the Bodegas Franco Royal?
Hey Bill,
It was great. Showing lots of life left in it.
Overall the dinner, wine and friends were all excellent. One for the books…

I have some Belair-Marquis. Whoever brought the 1995 and 2000 provided a great older versus youngish comparison. How were they?
That was a collab between Ian and I. He brought the 1995, I brought the 2000. The former was good, but more advanced than I would have expected. The latter is in a great spot right now, tertiary characteristics are showing along with fruit.
Thanks Ulli. Suckling was thrilled with the 1995 Margaux appelation vintage, Parker was not IIRC.
Such a great evening - beautiful location, great conversation, food and wine. My favorite of the evening was the 1997 Kathryn Kennedy (thanks Sean!). The BAMA’s were somewhat lost in the crowd. Too subtle and low key but they were enjoyable. Many other wonderful wines. Thanks to all!
Hi, I get out to Saratoga with my girlfriend to visit her parents. I managed to catch Saratoga Wine Walk again, such a great event!
I would be interested in an off line in the Saratoga, Los Gatos area on a future visit. I will be there around Christmas and not available, but mid to late February is a better bet.
I do not always watch your thread, so please pm me when a new thread starts.
Thanks,
Glenn
Hi Glenn, sounds good! We’ll keep you posted.
Good reminder actually that we should set a date for the next get together. How is everyone’s availability, should we do one soon, or wait until Feb?
Maybe a Berserker Day theme in January or Early Feb. Wines we have bought on the day or ones we sought out due from the site perhaps.
Jan sounds good, early Feb works for me too!
I was thinking about proposing one under the official umbrella: Coordinating the official BerserkerDay dinner(s)
Would you be interested in that, or should we do it more casual?
Either way, it looks we have momentum for a late Jan or Feb in the South Bay/Peninsula, so we should lock that in.
Does anyone want to do Santa Cruz in the interim? Last year we had a small group at Special Noodle before the holidays.
I’d love to get together before the holiday or in January on the Santa Cruz side. February is not so good for me, so how about a Los Gatos one in February and I’ll see if I can make it?
For the coastal side, next week or in January? What do folks think? Special noodle or the dumpling place we went to earlier in the year would be great.
Uli thanks for the instigation! Always appreciated.
I would love either or both. Santa Cruz early sounds great, I will simply moderate.
