Looking at buying used Eurocave -Advice

Hello,

I’m looking at buying a used Eurocave Vieillitheque 283v2. The production date is in 2012 and the unit is currently running and in operation and comes with 11 shelves… It’s currently priced at $3000 Canadian dollars which I think is a little high for the age. I’m looking for another opinion/advice to come back with an educated and respectful counter offer.

FYI I bought the 083 smaller version with a 2010 production run a couple years ago for $500 canadian which I’m very happy with.

Thanks for any input!

3000 seems like a lot. Often they get sold for almost nothing as they are so difficult to move.

Used wine fridges are like used cars, very depreciated There is the added issue of a limited market as to who wants one and who can move it. Maybe find out why they are selling it to improve your negotiating position.

Going on 12 years old maybe $1000.

I would not spend more than 500 on a 12 year old unit.

If Eurocaves are supposed to last 10-15 years and you are looking at a 12 year old unit; I would look for a significant discount to its original cost, like the $500 quoted directly above as you really have no recourse if it dies next week or lasts 3 or 5 or 7 years. You are bearing all the risk.
