Long Island wineries

Greetings again! Any new information about Long Island wineries? Most of the information is a bit dated and not terribly positive. Personally, we have not been there since 2009. Any advice would be helpful.

Cheers!
Marshall

This might be a bit dated, but the whites (in general) are better than the reds IMO. I do like Paumanok, including their Cab Franc and their Chenin Blanc.

Yep. Paumanok for sure. I’ve tasted with Charles and his son several times over the years.

I too am out of date with LI wineries. Cellar space is limited and FLX will always win out. That said, Paumanok is always a good choice, especially the Chenin Blanc. My LWS guy, who is very reliable, says I would really like Bedell but I haven’t pulled the trigger. He also carries Channing Daughters, one of whose wines got a mention in Eric Asimov’s latest “20 under 20” column.

I’ll mention one more, which I have had recently, the Floral Terranes ciders, all made from LI apples, and a Thanksgiving perennial for me. They also make wines from LI grapes, but I haven’t had those.

I think the one woman whites are some of the best of the north fork. Kontokasta and Croteuax for scenery but less so the wine (former for the view from “bluff”, the later is cute but i’d avoid if at a popular time)
