Anyone thinking of visiting the Loire Valley next June? I am, primarily around Vouvray and Chinon. Maybe we can meet up.
I like going to France in June but my wife doesn’t because she finds it too warm. One never knows though…I went there alone in June 2007 because she refused to go with me in the summer’s heat (it turned out June 2007 was very cool and rainy in Bdx). The only drawback was that I had to bring her again in late September when it was cooler. Anyway, if I go, I’ll let you know.
Personally, I’m not very fond of Vouvray’s wines and found the town just a little boring when I was there last - but that’s just me. When you’re in Chinon, visit the Fontevraud Abbey (in Fontevraud-l’Abbaye, a very short drive from Chinon) and be sure to eat at nearby La Licorne while your there, you won’t regret it.
