I hear Jake retained a 10% stake. Whether that’s the winery or not I don’t know. Hope the wine remains available and high quality.
Interesting and hopefully the wines remain to be good and well-made.
I recently tried their 2019 Russian River Zinfandel and it was really good!
Interesting. Do you know who acquired them??
There is a woman who lives at the end of the lane, made her money working for Oldsmobile. She just bought the property across the street from Sodini Vineyard too.
Thanks for the info, Brian! I wish the best for Jake Bilbro & Family in all their endeavors.
Got to say, I’m bummed to hear the news. Must’ve made sense to Jake, though. Definitely wish him well and am looking forward to hearing more about the change.
Thanks Brian! Not at all what I would have guessed, ha! Hopefully she loves/alpreciates old vine zin!

Me and you both pal.
Well I hope it stays similar to how it was; the time we visited like 3 random golden retrievers came into the tasting room with us.
From what I was able to gather it looks like the new owners have a winery up the hill called “due Ruscelli”

Where they sell $40+ bottles of Primitivo. Looks like they enjoy not selling wine.

Everyone needs a write off or three.
Maybe the woman who made her money with Oldsmobile could get together with the Fisher Family.
Or Maybach?
Wonder whether Chris Pittenger will stay on as their winemaker. Really good guy and talented winemaker.
I wonder if they will jack up the prices again. Many years ago it was a great QPR but then raised the prices (I believe after it got sold).

That would be rough. I already stopped buying the LL wines because of the price creep.
I also wonder what this will mean for the wineries that buy grapes from LL (Bedrock, Carlisle, etc).
Interesting that the property was purchased by an individual and not a corporate wine conglomerate like Constellation. Jake had a unique site and the old vines there are truly special. Hopefully the new owners appreciate those old vines.
^ I hope so too. But how often do these takeovers work for the better? Not often IMO.
Limerick is/was one of the few domestic mailing list wines I buy bought.
