Tonight’s dinner was roasted leg of churro lamb with the leftover Red & Chioggio beets, reheated in butter and chervil. Wine was a 1997 Ferrari-Carano Tremonte Syrah - cork colored about a quarter inch; good secondary dark berry-currant fruit; barely adequate acidity; with a medium-long developed fruit finish.
Then for dessert we had a crisp Pink Lady apple and few slices of Black Diamond Cheddar with a couple glasses of Banfi Grappa di Montalcino.
