Spotteswood kinda fancy
We had a similar experience at Corison. I was disappointed in both the environment, but also in her higher end wines. I think her basic Cab is lovely, but the other wines are overpriced and underwhelming.
We were there back in 2021 and did the Kronos tasting at the table they have setup in the vineyard. It was expensive, but IMO, still worth it to taste 4 vintages going back to 1999. The wines really show the potential for aromatic and elegant wines to be produced in Napa.
Iām glad itās not just me. Tasted there in 2016 and wanted to like it (I like old school, leaner Napa cabs). The interaction with the host was unusually frosty, and the wines just didnāt resonate. I just couldnāt see what Iād heard so much about in these wines previously. Too bad, as I was really looking forward to the tasting,
