Maybe. Definitely not worth retail especially for this vintage

Never had it, but usually great wineries do just fine. 2022 wasn’t super abysmal just tough. Don’t quite understand why everyone goes nuts about 2022 northern cal as bad. If 2022 is bad the future will be pretty bleak. But my thought is a top cuvee should be $125-150 there. At $300, any wine is overpriced. I buy a select few wines around this threshold that I know and love. I don’t buy mystery unknown to me bottles at that price.

This is a fair take I agree with. Many tasting rooms are pouring ā€˜22s right now and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. They’re certainly plush, which isn’t to everyone’s palate, but far from terrible. They won’t age like more structured vintages, but I’m not strictly avoiding them like I was prior to tasting some.

Ahh damn it. The 2006 is drinking PERFECTLY right now.

I’ve enjoyed the older Cain 5 vintages. If only there was a discount code to make it sub $40 :joy:

You can still buy it. Use this link - https://lastbottlewines.com/products/mystery-cabernet-sauvignon-oakville-napa-valley-2014

If this link helped you buy Morlet, would appreciate you using / supporting winebuyerapp  winebuyerapp.com

Thanks for the link, I grabbed two more. I had received two a couple months ago and they arrived with signs of heat damage. One had a depressed cork and the other was leaking. I opened up the leaking bottle and it was honestly one of the best bottles of wine I have ever had.

I had bought two more on this mystery offering but regretted not grabbing a couple more, so your link helps ease my fomo. Thanks!

Here you go for an even $40 -LB10

Thank you!

I tried the LB10 discount code and it only gave me $10 off of a $218 order, not 10%…

Yup it’s only $10 off. I used it for 2 of the 06 Cain Five

Nice one. They started redirecting now.

Both links take me to the current champagne offer. Does that mean the Cain is gone?

Edit: I see you were trying to direct to the Morlet not the Cain.

I think it means the Morlet has been sold out, because I used to be able to see Morlet with this link a few hours ago but now it lands me onto the Champagne page as well.

Just opened a 2018 Edge Hill Mixed Black. It’s a very nice wine for $39. No regrets.I had a 2014 prior to this that I got off Winebid for $60. They are stylistically quite similar (no surprise). Anyways, thought I’d report back. It’s a complex wine. Fruit driven, but also has a definite iron/cured meats component going on. It’s a reasonable deal for $40, $60 it’s a bit high, though well done wine.

I haven’t looked at the list lately but for comparisons, 4 years ago we paid about $450 total for a Kistler Pinot and a Peter Michael Belle Cote.
