There was a picture of a yquem in the barrel, did they ever offer yquem? I bought a couple bottles of it in the last marathon. Maybe that was just a teaser this time around?
i might be that tasting note. for the price they offer the TN brunellos, i grab them almost every time they offer them. theyre pretty solidly what I picture when i think of brunello every time I open one. maybe a slight modern lean, but overall i think you made a solid pickup
I thought the Marathon before this most recent ones wasn’t quite as exciting and the deals weren’t quite as good, but I still bought a case and was happy what I came away with. I didn’t watch this Marathon as closely, but from what I saw, including the power hour, it was pretty garbage. Also, talking up the power hour so much just to offer wines that no one’s heard of isn’t the best way to satisfy customers. I lost a lot of faith in LastBottle after this one.
So many of the 2016 BV latours being offered. Wonder if they had a massive over supply of these? I bought 6 at the tasting room in fall of 2019 for $99 and even k&l is selling them at that price.
I use a site called WineBouny. It seems fairly accurate.
I like how i can search of things and see when/how much it was last offered. Gives you an idea of what things usually come up during marathons and how many times they’ve offered it.
I think the site is fairly new, 2020 so there isnt a TON of data from past year offerings but the i’ve been using it since the April Marathon.
The 2015 Et Fille Palmer Creek was available late Friday night for $20/bottle. We met the Palmer Creek Vineyard owners (Larry and Janet?) through a mutual friend. They graciously hosted us for a short visit a few years ago, so it was nice to pick up a few bottles on Friday night.
