Large Format Bubbles

Greeting all…I’m in search of a 3L or larger bottle of champagne/sparkling to open for a part this summer. Non wine nerds will make most of the crowd. Any thoughts on sources for such bottles. Shipping to Michigan soon would be best. And because most folks could care less, I am not looking for anything crazy.

Thanks champagne.gif

Pretty much any wine shop you deal with. They likely won’t have one in stock but their distributors almost assuredly do. Just tell them what you want and how much you want to spend and they can flip through their books and give you options.

Domaine Carneros

Contact Robert Panzer of Down to Earth Wines. He’s a board regular. I bought some of his Collestefano Verdicchio Extra brut for an office party that was great for geeks and non-geeks alike, and priced smartly. I think he had large formats too, although my 3L may have been a still version.

Cheers,
Warren

Thanks to all for the recs. I have a few emails out to see what people can scrounge up… If anyone else has some thoughts, I would be happy to hear them as well.

Here’s a couple of Anderson Valley ones worth seeking out. The Roederer might see some distribution so you might be able to find it nearby. I know a few California retailers carry them. Also of note is that the 3L see quite a bit more time on the lees before disgorgement (was told once at the winery in the 6+ year neighborhood). If you google 'Roderer Estate 3L" you will see which online retailers carry it and I am sure you will find one that will ship to you.
